I'm in the market for a 30hp 4*4 tractor. Who makes farm pro? What are the best reasons to stick to the big names? I'm not interested in being cheep but not interested in paying for a name. thanks dave

Pretty sure that it's one of the Chinese Jinmas. They sell under a number of different names. Between excessive depreciation and repairs I personally think they are false economy. You sound like a perfect candidate for a Korean tractor. Kioti, Mahindra or Century-Branson twins. I ended up with a Century 3045. It has the same (48 HP Yanmar four) engine as a John Deere 4710 and was $7000 less. In my instance it was also less than the Kioti or Mahindra, but that changes with dealers. My decision was also based on my positive relationship with the dealer and factory rep. I could own a Kioti and Mahindra and be very happy, if I had the same support.

I would agree but I would add one more name. 2 years ago I was looking for a compact and checked all the big makers. I finally settled on a Korean made Long. Available with shuttle or hydro.
Now for the confession, I praised the tractor so much to anyone that asked, my dealer signed me on as a commission paid salesman. So I am a 'little' biased.
As long as I am promoting, you might check out some of the Long's made in India (made by Escort, just like the Fords).
Sorry for the ad, but I did want to give an alternative. ....
